Mille Miglia (Thousand Miles) – race on public roads, held in Italy from 1927 to 1957. TMille Miglia made Gran Turismo class cars popular and glorified automobile brands such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche.
Unlike the modern rally, in which the cars start with a minute interval and at the same time the first to go on the track professional crews on more advanced technology, Mille Miglia opened the start of the slowest cars. This simplified the organization of the race, because the start time was reduced, and there was no need to block roads for a long time.
